Take on plumbing projects you won’t find in civilian life by bringing your skills and qualifications to a role that ensures the Army has clean water supplies wherever it goes.
As an Army Plumber, you will be responsible for the supply and maintenance of plumbing, drainage, sewerage, water supply, roof plumbing, hydraulic and mechanical services, and intermediate gas plumbing. Your company will support the construction, installation, renovation, and repair of domestic, commercial, industrial, and military infrastructure.
Plumbers serve in the Royal Australian Engineers, construction squadrons, and combat engineer regiments.

All Australian Defence Force personnel must have security clearance appropriate to their role. This includes background checks and/or interviews conducted by the Australian Government Security Screening Agency (AGSVA) to ensure the protection of government information and resources. Your career advisor will advise you on the level of security clearance required for your chosen position.
Note: Maths in Society and similarly ‘modified’ maths are not suitable subjects for entry to the Army Technical and Trade Scheme.

Duration: 10 weeks
Location: Kapooka, Wagga Wagga, NSW
During training, you’ll take part in physical training, weapon handling and shooting, first aid, drill and field craft. You’ll be challenged both mentally and physically.
Although it can be demanding, most recruits gain a sense of achievement, purpose and confidence during basic training, and on completion of the course feel justifiably proud of what they have achieved. The priority of our instructors is to help you succeed
You’ll be enlisted for an Initial Minimum Period of Service (IMPS) of 6 years. Subsequent periods of service may be offered subject to the requirements of the ADF and your suitability for further service. You’ll have a Career Coach who can advise on how IMPS will relate to your chosen occupation and personal situation.
You may request discharge anytime, provided you do not have an outstanding IMPS obligation.
