Learning and Development Officer (Navy NEW ZELAND) Full Time

Job Details:

As a Learning and Development Officer (LDO) in the New Zealand Defense Force (NZDF), you will play a key role in enabling military personnel to develop the cognitive edge, knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for success in complex, joint, inter-agency, and multinational operations. LDO roles are generally categorized into the following functions:

Support international defense commitments.

Promote capacity building through English language teaching, a systemic approach to the transmission of disciplinary knowledge, and teacher training to provide the following services:

NZDF Mutual Assistance Program (MAP).

This initiative aims to build relationships and enhance capabilities with partner nations through skills exchange and training support.

Mutual Support Training Teams (MATTs).

MATTs are deployed to partner nations to provide targeted training in specific areas. MATTs are staffed by NZDF personnel who provide practical training, advice, and technical expertise tailored to the needs of the host nation’s military or security forces.

Provide strategic direction and advice to the Command.

Lead NZDF learning policies and advise the NZDF and Service Commands to ensure training systems meet operational requirements.

Delivering learning outcomes.

Facilitate courses that enable the development of excellent trainers and the design of work-based learning to enhance NZDF’s training and education delivery.

Learning systems leaders. Provide specialized leadership and management of military learning capability through key appointments. This includes collaborating with Capability Branch stakeholders and being responsible for the analysis of training solutions that align with the development and sustainment of NZDF capabilities.

Requirements:

Education

• Hold a recognized degree in education or training disciplines. These disciplines may include, but not be limited to: adult education, training and development, vocational training, and
• Have significant experience as a training, education, and learning systems development professional.
