This position is classified as a Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) role and is assigned to the Silver Wings Pool.
Applicants must hold a current and nationally recognized certification relevant to the activity and skill levels they will instruct (e.g., swimming, aquatic exercise). In addition, candidates must possess nationally recognized certifications in lifesaving and water rescue techniques and current training in basic first aid and CPR for children and adults.
Provides swimming instruction to individuals and groups of all ages, including adults and children. Teaches water safety rules and pool procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable swimming environment.
Works within a swimming pool facility where lifeguards are present to perform lifesaving duties. May assist lifeguards with pool safety inspections and support daily pool operations, including the cleaning and maintaining bathhouses, wading pools, main pools, and pool decks. Additional duties may be assigned as required.

Experience for Qualification:
Must possess a current and nationally recognized certification appropriate to the activity and skill levels being instructed (e.g., swimming, aquatic exercise).
Must hold nationally recognized certifications in lifesaving and water rescue techniques, as well as current certifications in basic first aid and CPR (adult and child).
Experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of instructional and developmental teaching methods, swimming activities, rules and procedures, and the use and maintenance of pool and safety equipment is highly desirable.
Successful completion of installation records checks, along with state and national criminal background checks, may be required for positions involving the instruction of children.
Must be physically capable of routinely lifting objects weighing 20–45 pounds and, with assistance, objects exceeding 50 pounds.
Education/FOREIGN EDUCATION:
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
Education completed at foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet qualification requirements, provided it has been evaluated as equivalent to education obtained in an accredited U.S. educational institution. It is the applicant’s responsibility to submit documentation that verifies the equivalency of their foreign education at the time of application.
