Clicks Per Second Test
What is CPS?
CPS stands for Clicks Per Second. This website is designed to precisely determine your click speed. The number of CPS is obtained by dividing the number of clicks by time.
You can manually count your clicks using a stopwatch, but the result won't be as accurate as the automatic testing on Opinohive.
How to Test Your CPS:
- Select your preferred test duration (1 to 100 seconds)
- Press the blue "START" button - the timer will start immediately
- Continue clicking the same button as fast as you can
- Don't stop clicking until your time is up
- View your results and CPS rating
What is a Good CPS?
- 5-7 CPS: Average - easily achievable with regular clicking
- 7-10 CPS: Good - requires practice and proper technique
- 10-15 CPS: Very Good - advanced clicking techniques needed
- 15+ CPS: Excellent - professional level clicking
Clicking Techniques
Regular Clicking
The standard clicking method - just click as you normally do. Natural and easy, but not very fast. Most people can achieve 5-8 CPS max with this method.
Butterfly Clicking
This technique uses two fingers on the mouse button, clicking alternately. Pro players can score up to 25-30 CPS with this method. Works best with mice that allow double-clicking.
Jitter Clicking
Strain your hand in the clicking position and rapidly vibrate your finger on the mouse button. Creates a shaking motion. Can achieve 12-20 CPS but makes aiming difficult. Requires practice and a good mouse with non-slip buttons.
Drag Clicking
Clicks are generated by vibrations from dragging a finger over the button. Only works with mice that have scabrous or matte button surfaces. Can achieve up to 100 CPS with the right mouse.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How accurate is this CPS test?
Opinohive's CPS checker is highly accurate, measuring clicks with precision timing. It can handle up to 200+ CPS depending on your PC performance.
Q: Can I use both mouse buttons?
Yes! You can use both left and right mouse buttons. Right-click works just like left-click in our CPS test.
Q: Is my data saved?
Your CPS history is stored locally on your device in browser storage. We don't collect any data on our servers. If you clear your browser data, your history will be deleted.
Q: What's the world record for CPS?
The world record for legitimate clicking (without macros) is around 22-25 CPS using butterfly or jitter clicking techniques. Drag clicking can achieve much higher numbers but is hardware-dependent.
Q: Why do I need to test my CPS?
CPS testing is popular among gamers, especially Minecraft PvP players, where fast clicking provides competitive advantages. It's also useful for improving mouse control and hand-eye coordination.
Q: Can I improve my CPS?
Yes! With practice and proper techniques like butterfly or jitter clicking, you can significantly improve your CPS. Start with regular clicking and gradually learn advanced techniques.
Q: What test duration should I choose?
For quick measurements, use 5-10 seconds. For endurance testing and to detect fatigue, try 30-60 seconds. The 10-second test is the most popular standard.
Q: Does my mouse matter?
Yes! A good gaming mouse with responsive buttons can significantly improve your CPS. Mice with lighter buttons are generally better for high CPS. For drag clicking, you need a mouse with the right button surface texture.
